Reservations
Off Peak Season (Remainder of the Year): Anyone can reserve up to 4 months of dock space based upon availability and purchase of the appropriate permit.
Reservations may be made up to a year in advance and will require a deposit and proof of ownership, rental or guest documents.
Short Notice Request: In any season, based upon availability, anyone can apply for a slip 48 hours or less before check-in. These requests are unlimited. They are not considered reservations and, as such, do not apply toward reservation totals. Maximum request periods are the same as reservation periods; 14 days in Peak Season and 4 months in Off Peak Season.
Permitting
- $150 Peak Season. Reservations from 3-7 days in length, second week available at the same rate.
- $100 Off Peak Season. Reservations from 3-7 days in length, second week available at the same rate.
Long term Permit: Cost $250
- Off-Peak Season only. Entitles vessel to 4 consecutive months of docking privileges and 4 months of advance reservations subject to availability.
Annual Permit: Cost $500
- Year round docking privileges.
- Limited to 1 per Condominium unit.
- Reservations shall not exceed 14 consecutive days during peak season and 4 months during off peak season, both subject to unlimited renewals and availability.
Check-in / Check-out and Parking
- Check-in time is 1:00 pm (Central Time)
- Check-out Time is 11:00 am (Central Time)
- Vessels are to dock between the white markers along the docks. Center the vessel between the marks and do not allow any portion of your vessel to intrude into the next space.
Restrictions
- Permit holders must own or be occupying a condo at Sandpiper Cove during the dates reserved, and, if not an owner, must submit a rental contract or owner authorization form as proof thereof.
Vessel restrictions:
- The vessel owner must submit a current registration certificate and proof of at least $100K liability insurance prior to check in.
- No vessels with open air exhaust porting will be issued a permit unless the exhaust can also be ported under water.
- The overall length of the vessel may not exceed 30 feet. When necessary, SPC Security will measure the vessel and make a final determination of compliance.
- Vessels less than 15 feet in length
- Are not allowed to occupy a numbered slip unless authorized by the SPC Manager or designate.
Vessel Trailers:
- Vessel trailers (loaded or empty) are not allowed to park on SPC property unless parked underneath a condominium unit (as found under some Villas and 4000series units).
Canal Docking Reservation & Permitting
- A Reservation can be made online by clicking on the desired slip. Check calendar for availability.
- A Permit is issued during the check in process when you arrive at Sandpiper.
A permit may not be issued if any of the following conditions exist:
- Reservation is made under false pretenses or, if for any reason incorrect information is provided to secure the reservation.
- The boat must meet all requirements of the RULES AND REGULATIONS for CANAL DOCKS.
Critical Vessel Requirements
The boat must be less than 30' long
- The overall length of the vessel may not exceed 30 feet, as measured from the forward-most part of the vessel, including anything attached to it, to the rear-most part of the vessel including platforms and engines/out-drives in their raised positions. This length is not necessarily the length that is stated on the vessel’s registration. When necessary, SPC Security will measure the vessel and make a final determination of compliance.
The boat owner must provide proof of current state registration prior to check in.
The boat owner must provide proof of liability insurance in an amount not less than $100,000 prior to check in.
Proof of required insurance and state registration should be faxed to SPC Canal Reservations (850) 654-4186 or scanned and sent to jbranch@sandpipercove.com before any reservation can be confirmed.
No vessel with open air exhaust porting will be issued a permit unless it can be operated in a quieter mode.
Documents that you must provide at check-in if not submitted in advance
- Rental Contract or other documentation from the owner or manager of the unit that you are staying in, indicating the length of your stay.
- Current registration for the Vessel.
- Proof of liability insurance for the vessel.
Ownership is defined to mean either personally or by being the controlling or majority stockholder of a corporation or partnership owning said boat.
